Let’s visit Carniola to get some nice fish! Tabor restaurant is famous for their excellent seafood offer. If you visit them, you will feel good and eat well, enjoying a lovely restaurant decorated with details from the seaside and a lovely summer shade of the trees on the terrace. Whatever seafood you can think of, the friendly owner Mateja Markič will offer it on a plate: big wild fish like red scorpionfish, John Dory, dentex or delicious scampi, octopus, squid and different mussels. They swear by classic, well-known flavours of top-notch ingredients, which they carefully prepare in the style of “less is more” to keep the richness of taste and the minerality of the sea. They pay a lot of attention to plating, because they are aware that the aesthetics are just as important as the flavours. Their homemade, aromatic bread and excellent olive oil with some fleur de sel already show their philosophy that only the best is good enough. A starter with marinated mackerel will not leave you indifferent and neither will the juicy scallops. The ones who are crazy about scampi will get their turn and fans of pasta and risottos will, too. They prepare wonderful dishes from under the bell and all of them are true hits: octopus with potatoes and vegetables, veal, lamb … A beautiful and flavourful experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
