Gault&Millau's review 2026

Here the sea is not just a view, but moves straight to the plate. The cuisine follows the morning catch, the season and the tradition of Istrian and Mediterranean cuisine, with freshness having the main word. Guests are embraced by the relaxed coastal atmosphere upon arrival, and when lunch begins with warm, freshly baked homemade bread, it is clear that something good is in store. Especially when you spread creamy truffle cod on it, rounded off with drops of extra virgin olive oil, and next to it comes a delicate carpaccio of sea bass. These are those first biters who, without big words, say: the sea is at home here. The offer is based on daily fresh fish and delicacies from the Adriatic, prepared in various ways. The kitchen skillfully combines traditional recipes with a modern approach, but without unnecessary complication. The flavors are clean, balanced and expressive, beautifully complemented by a glass of carefully selected wine. On warm days, something fresh is served and they like to serve homemade ice cream and fruit desserts. Those who swear by more rich flavors will find it hard to overlook the chocolate soufflé or the Santalucia house dessert. The ambience remains true to the spirit of the local fish canteen, which is why guests like to take their time here – for good food and pleasant socializing.
