Gault&Millau's review 2026

The feeling of nature right beside the table is the finest seasoning of all, and Restaurant Šobec knows exactly how to make the most of it. Its story is built on a blend of homeliness that embraces modernity, with dishes that carry the aromas of Gorenjska and a strong commitment to sustainability. In doing so, the restaurant proves that it is not merely an addition to the campsite, but one of its strongest reasons to visit. Guests gladly return here. The terrace overlooking the pond offers the perfect place to unwind - whether over coffee, pizza, a glass of lemonade, or wine with friends. The restaurant is equally ideal for a family lunch or for a more refined culinary experience rooted in recognisable local flavours. The homemade beef soup truly tastes homemade, while the traditional cold cuts platter and Wiener schnitzel remind guests why classics never go out of style. Tagliatelle with dry-aged beef loin, Istrian truffle, and egg cream celebrates richness of flavour, just like the slices of veal loin served with sautéed vegetables. Equally delightful is the roasted fillet of local Zupan trout resting on fregola with sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese cream. Portions are generous, and sweet cravings are more than satisfied: from homemade ice cream to deconstructed apple strudel and the iconic Bled cream cake, classics that in Gorenjska never require a special invitation.
