Gault&Millau's review 2026

Most attracts both locals and tourists who have discovered that a reliable culinary destination is tucked away along the Ljubljanica River. It also impresses with the breadth of its offering, ranging from seafood dishes and Istrian specialities to Slovenian classics, cured meats, soups and other traditional dishes, all approached with a somewhat more refined touch. Variety, quality and flavour come together in a relaxed dining experience, enhanced in fine weather by the lively atmosphere of the city and the terrace. Among the diverse selection of starters, the caprese stood out, impressing with the softness of colourful cherry tomatoes, silky burrata, pine nuts, and homemade basil pesto. Lovers of seafood would also appreciate the sea bass ceviche with Japanese ponzu sauce, which unfolds on the palate with freshness and vibrancy. For the main course, fuži pasta with Istrian black truffles, generously shaved over the dish, was served with king prawns. It is a lavish plate that impresses not only with its flavour but also with its generous portion. Alongside it, we chose a grilled octopus tentacle with potatoes and spinach, beautifully charred, juicy, and perfectly tender. The sweet finale of the evening belonged to chocolate štruklji served with strawberry sauce.
