In the centre of Kranjska Gora, where the Alpine pulse is most beautifully intertwined with a sense of homeliness, stands the charming boutique hotel Pino Alpino with the restaurant of the same name. The well-coordinated service staff elegantly guides guests through the culinary story with a simple but eloquent motto: "It's simply delicious." And it is in this apparent simplicity that the greatest charm is hidden. The chef is rightly proud of his fermentation chamber, where real little miracles of nature are created. Culinary curiosity can be satisfied with tasting menus of various lengths, all dishes are also available à la carte. We were especially impressed by the confit dry-ripened trout in the company of fermented radishes, crispy roe and garuma. The Viennese steak is also masterfully prepared; Veal steak, caught in a golden crispy panada, is served with a side dish that skilfully combines local and global flavors, Slovenian mate and Korean kimchi. For lovers of sweet bites, there is a delicious Hokkaido pumpkin with homemade mascarpone, no less seductive is pumpkin seed ice cream with miso caramel and crunch with sumac. For a sweet trip, grandma's bayadères and peanuts with cockta also come from the kitchen. The sparkling offer and magical ambience definitely call for a return visit.
