An extremely picturesque and popular excursion point first delighted us with a sunny view. When the locals present their gastronomic offer from the kitchen, the appetite is awakened and the charm of the place becomes even stronger. For the introduction, we indulged in beef carpaccio with apple, blueberries and a selection of cow cheeses from their brand Golden ring, which are served with house jams. The clash between young cheese and mature camembert got two winners, both of which are phenomenal. Cheeses are a chapter in themselves: they are grown by themselves, and they ripen deep underground, in the abandoned tunnels of a former Italian caravan. Also, most of the ingredients are grown on their own farm, so the menu naturally adapts to the seasons. Among the hot appetizers, jota with turnips and sausage stood out, and for the main course, juicy pork loin with pancetta and roast beef with roasted potatoes and cabbage were on the table. A special mention should be made of corn polenta with Treviso chicory sauce, fried bacon and albumin curd. The interweaving of flavors was so enticing that you would immediately order it again. They also have a tasting menu to order, and you can end your visit with the purchase of cheese, meat, wine or honey.
