Karavla 297 does not hide its past. Quite the opposite. It acts as a kind of bridge between the past and the present – where there used to be a border barracks, today people are connected by a table. In Caravel 297, they believe that the guest should get up from it satisfied, satisfied, and with the feeling that he has received something fair. A good restaurant is quickly recognizable, even by the soup that is not watery, by the sauce that has the right taste, and by the waiter who notices you even before you start waving around the dining room. On the menu they have everything we expect in such an environment: soups, stews, venison, lamb, trout, steaks ... The veal stew with buckwheat brandy was very delightful, the venison with cranberries and cottage cheese dumplings convinced us with its softness and rich taste. Because hunger sounds different in the mountain air, the tender roasted liver is just crying out for the next bite. Sweet too – the choice is just right, from shimmery to creamy slices. We said goodbye with the feeling that places like this don't happen overnight. They grow slowly, even with a genuine attitude towards the guest. It's not just about the plate, it's about the feeling that you've come somewhere where homeliness, honesty, and the time you've taken for yourself are still appreciated.
