Trost has been firmly anchored in the karst area for decades and is considered a true classic among connoisseurs of seafood cuisine. Just a stone's throw from the main roads that connect the interior with the Slovenian coast, but at the same time secluded enough to maintain a sense of homeliness and peace, it is a stop where you do not go by chance, but with a purpose. The restaurant is famous for its consistent commitment to freshness, proven suppliers and the traditional way of preparing fish and seafood. The menu adapts to the daily catch, so there is no room for compromise here: what comes on the plate is first-class and impeccably processed. Among the regulars, raw Adriatic shrimps stand out. Cuttlefish salad is soft, aromatic and balanced with juicy tomatoes. Risotto, cooked precisely al dente, is creamy and full of flavor. In each bite, juicy squid, caneštrelles, sweet tails of Adriatic shrimp and sea praying mantis are revealed, which reigns supreme on the dish and adds a sumptuous look to the plate. A special chapter is represented by masterfully prepared grilled wild fish. The Trost Inn is not fashionable, it is not trendy and it does not burden itself with it. Its strength lies in its consistency, tradition and excellent seafood cuisine, which is why it remains one of those taverns where guests return again and again for a taste of the sea.
