At Gostilna Rajh, tradition is placed on the plate every single day. The Rajh family has built a culinary story in which warmth, hospitality, and respect for local flavours are passed down from generation to generation - not through grand gestures, but through genuine care and dedication. Times may have changed, but one thing remains constant: the feeling that you have arrived among people who truly understand what makes a great inn. The welcome is warm, the table inviting, and the kitchen proudly rooted in its heritage. Rather than turning away from tradition, it draws strength from it. The menu speaks the language of Prekmurje. Dishes such as Mangalica pork with dödoli and mushrooms, venison loin with bread dumplings, bograč served in a cauldron, and chicken paprika stew with buttered dödoli celebrate the region’s culinary identity. Classic comfort dishes also hold an important place: Wiener schnitzel with potato salad and cranberries, boiled beef with creamy horseradish, fried chicken with buttered potatoes, and, on weekends, slowly roasted veal shoulder - a dish for those who understand that great flavour requires patience. At the same time, the kitchen embraces a lighter, more contemporary approach when appropriate. Beetroot is paired with goat cheese, while zander is served with a buttery wine sauce, demonstrating a thoughtful balance between tradition and modernity. Rajh is the kind of inn where no one is in a hurry. That, perhaps, is its greatest charm: sincerity, simplicity, and a deep respect for flavours that do not merely survive through memory, but continue to evolve and shape the future.
