On the outskirts of Ljubljana, where the sounds of the city gradually give way to greenery, stands Gostilna Ponvica. Guests do not return for urban glamour, but for its relaxed atmosphere and consistently good food. The restaurant’s signature dishes are those served in a skillet, where quality ingredients and precise preparation take center stage. These dishes best reflect the character of the house. The seafood skillet combines octopus, squid, mussels, king prawns, and potatoes, bringing the aromas and flavours of the sea directly to the table. Meat skillets are also available, but the menu extends far beyond them. Guests can choose from homemade pasta dishes, ranging from Istrian fuži to spaghetti with prawns, while beef goulash is served with house-made gnocchi. The restaurant also prepares excellent steaks with tender, juicy meat that delivers on every bite. For those seeking lighter options, there are rice bowls, while pizza lovers can enjoy carefully topped creations that lean toward the gourmet end of the spectrum.
