Gault&Millau's review 2026

In the Karst region, there are inns you do not visit by chance - you stop there for a reason. Muha is one of them. The atmosphere is warm and homely, promising comfort even before the first plate reaches the table. The perfect way to begin is with jota or ričet. The Karst-style jota is exactly as it should be: thick and hearty, filled with sauerkraut, turnips, potatoes, and beans, delivering deep, satisfying flavour. The ričet follows in the same spirit: aromatic, rich with vegetables, and infused with the kind of homely warmth that gives a dish its soul. For those wishing to sample several flavours at once, the trio of pasta dishes is the ideal choice: homemade gnocchi bathed in Bolognese sauce, fuži served in a porcini mushroom sauce, and homemade dumpling rolls filled with spinach. The veal Wiener schnitzel unapologetically takes over the entire plate. The breading is masterfully thin and golden-crisp, hiding tender, juicy veal beneath. It comes with a generous serving of potato croquettes, while homemade radicchio salad with beans rounds out the meal beautifully. For a sweet finish, guests can choose between homemade apple strudel, a juicy pear and cheese tart, or a timeless classic - pancakes filled with walnuts and topped with lightly whipped cream. Muha remains faithful to dishes that need no grand words, proving that simplicity can be extraordinarily delicious.
