Gault&Millau's review 2026

Radovljica has its own Lectar. An inn where they do not rely on big words, but on tradition, local Slovenian cuisine and dishes that bring the taste of Gorenjska to the plate. Start with the intoxicating mushroom soup in a bread plate, a masterpiece that has become their trademark. Recently picked mushrooms are slowly cooked in a rich soup base from homemade soup seasoned with homemade bay leaf and pepper. Dense, fragrant and full of forest character, it is exactly what one expects in an old Gorenjska inn. A special charm is added by the bread plate, which slowly absorbs the soup and becomes part of the dish, but remains crispy. Among the main dishes, veal roast stands out. Tender, juicy meat and homemade flavors are reminiscent of a Sunday lunch as it remains in your memory. Enjoy a glass of local wine or one of the local distillates with your meal. For a sweet finish, don't miss the homemade dumplings, we treated ourselves to buckwheat with walnuts, honey and cinnamon. They will surely convince you to come back here again. Lectar remains a title for guests who are not looking for a culinary spectacle in Radovljica, but for homeliness, the taste of Gorenjska and the feeling that they have sat at a table in a house with a story.
