Gault&Millau's review 2026

At Hotel Kunst and its eponymous inn, guests are pampered on a charming terrace during the summer months, while in winter the experience moves beside the warmth of a glowing fireplace. Throughout the year, Kunst remains devoted to local ingredients, though never in a predictable way - the flavours arrive on the plate without unnecessary complication. Homemade spreads are served on a wooden board, immediately revealing the house’s strong local identity and introducing the menu’s key strengths: the pâté is made from capon, while the zaseka comes from Krškopolje pig. The first true star, and the reason lovers of fine food gladly return, is the freshly roasted capon. Equally memorable is the capon ragout, accompanied by a fried barley sphere and Parmesan crisp; a genuine crowd favorite. The second signature ingredient is, naturally, the Krškopolje pig itself. At Kunst, they pay tribute to it by serving it already as a starter. Thin slices of five-year-aged Krškopolje prosciutto practically melt on the tongue. The expertly prepared Krškopolje T-bone steak captivates with its juiciness, crisp seared crust, and rich aroma. Lovers of seafood will appreciate the poached turbot fillet served with velvety purée, spinach, and beurre blanc sauce. The culinary experience is completed by an extensive wine selection, in which exceptional wines from local producers hold a place of honour - exactly as they should.
