Gault&Millau's review 2026

Three countries, one story. By the emerald lake, under the watchful eye of the Julian peaks, the Jasna Inn – dishes of three countries connects Slovenian, Austrian and Italian culinary traditions. The restaurant focuses on taste, warmth and respect for the environment, because each plate tells the story of the richness of the Alpine area. The tender tartare of the local rainbow trout impressed in the company of bold, expressive pumpkin paste and refreshing yoghurt mousse. Fresh, playful, and just right, resolute – such a plate is just calling for a new bite. Homemade Idrija žlikrofi in a creamy sauce with softly shredded beef and boletus offered a real luxury of homemade comforting food. On the other hand, the juicy, golden-roasted Carniolan sausage reigned supreme over roasted potatoes with onions. The sharpness of the fresh horseradish made for a lively cut and woke up the plate nicely. Regardless of whether you treat yourself to a traditional Sunday lunch with roast veal, share a pork leg in good company or indulge in pampering yourself with an evening tasting menu, Jasna bets on the meeting of three cuisines, local ingredients and the local innkeeper's soul. It is not a cold culinary show, but a living Alpine story in which Slovenia, Austria and Italy meet at the same table. That's where her greatest charm lies.
