Just a short distance from Ljubljana’s urban bustle stands Gostilna Gorjanc, one of those traditional inns that has never needed to draw attention to itself. Its appeal lies elsewhere: in tradition, warmth, and a menu built on fa-miliar flavours rather than passing culinary trends. This is a place for leisurely lunches, family celebrations, and long dinners shared with friends. Nobody rushes here. Guests settle in, enjoy conversation, and allow the meal to un-fold at its own pace. The kitchen remains firmly committed to classic recipes and the comforting flavours many people associate with home. The menu features a range of traditional favourites and more substantial specialties, including duck pâté, snails, barley stew (ričet), roast veal, veal shank, roa-sted lamb, steaks in rich sauces, and beef fillet. Among the most beloved dishes is the restaurant’s fried chicken, a house specialty that has earned a loyal following through simple excellence. These are not dishes that seek attention through elaborate descriptions or culinary theatrics.
