Gault&Millau's review 2026

It is good to know that the Cajnarje Inn is not just around the first corner. But when you finally arrive at your destination and a pet donkey is waiting for you in the sun, a smile just creeps up on your face. In the introduction, the master of the house took us into the world of orange wines, of which they have a lot to choose from, and at the same time a greeting came from the kitchen in the form of baked grinders. This has evolved into delicious appetizers such as eggs with trout roe or beetroot with goat curd sprinkled with hazelnuts. Beef soup is also surprising, and its unforgettable aromatic taste is ensured by a little cooking secret – fennel. For the main course, fried chicken strips with roasted potatoes and forced chicory were crunched under your teeth, as well as long-cooked beef with mushrooms and homemade dumplings with breadcrumbs and chives. There is little space left for chocolate with a salt flower, but a lot of goodwill. Cajnar is an inn, thought out to the last corner. This is felt in the aesthetics of the room, the offer, the quality of the ingredients. What really rounds it all off is the attitude towards the guest: in the intertwining of warmth and good food, there is a genuine concern to pamper him so that he will be happy to return. Even if he has to get to them again after corners.
