At Mal’ca, they pamper their guests with warm home-made food, from rich stews reminiscent of grandmother’s recipes, to buckwheat porridge with broccoli, home-made žlikrofi dumplings or delicious szegedin goulash with fried polenta. The sweet ending does not disappoint either, in addition to classic and seasonal desserts, a light, refreshing mango pie with pineapple is worth mentioning. The menu is not endless, but it is well thought out. Every day they focus on a few selected dishes, which ensures that the ingredients are fresh and the flavours are full. Mal’ca, by the way, is considered one of the most popular lunch spots in Maribor due to its quality-price ratio. It is proof that “snack” (that is what mal’ca means in Slovene) does not just mean a snack.
