At the corner of Plečnik’s Market Arcades in Ljubljana’s Central Market, a collection of Prekmurje cured meats and regional delicacies has found its home, combining the lively atmosphere of a bistro with the appeal of a delicatessen. The menu features hearty breakfasts and generous charcuterie platters showcasing Prekmurje ham, prosciutto made from Krškopolje and Mangalica pork, lard, sausages, cracklings, and horseradish. These are followed by rustic sandwiches, while the selection of spoon dishes includes bograč, bujta repa, and even tripe stew. Despite the strong emphasis on meat, vegetarians are not forgotten and will find suitable options as well. The Prekmurje layer cake is a category of its own, and one of the greatest pleasures is that many of the delicacies served here can also be purchased to take home.
