In Škofja Loka, it is impossible to miss Homan, standing proudly beside the town’s famous Homan linden tree. Now that the main square - known locally as Plac - has been beautifully renovated, the historic Homan House, home to the café on its ground floor for many years, shines even brighter. The café and pastry shop are run by the Prevc family. Former Slovenian ski jumper Cene Prevc manages the venue, while his wife, Julija Prevc, creates an impressive selection of pastries and desserts. Among the modern cakes and pastries, the Homan cream cake (kremšnita) holds a place of honour. It has been the house specialty for decades and remains one of the café’s defining treats. The colourful dessert display is complemented by a wide selection of coffees, teas, and homemade lemonades, as well as beers and wines, making Homan a charming stop for anyone looking to enjoy the atmosphere of Škofja Loka with something sweet in hand.
