Gault&Millau's review 2026

Hidden in the embrace of nature along the picturesque bank of the Drava River, the Pec Inn is one of those culinary stops where time slows down pleasantly. For more than a century, it has been inviting gourmets and travelers alike to indulge in local cuisine. Although it is only a few minutes away from Maribor, it is far from the hustle and bustle of the city and offers a peaceful environment for a relaxed lunch, a romantic dinner or a family celebration. Premium beef for steak tartare with a nostalgic taste is seasoned according to the classic recipe, the texture is silky spreadable. Fuži with truffles, prosciutto and parmesan is a dish that combines the simplicity of local cuisine and the luxury of noble flavors. The taste of superbly roasted lamb ribs, soaked in the aromas of fresh herbs and placed on a scoop of creamy polenta, is complemented by a slightly spicy pepper sauce. The fluffy Pohorje omelette, classic and almost forgotten, comes to life in all its softness and luxury in the Pec Restaurant. Served in a generous serving for two, with a juicy cranberry spread, sprinkled with plenty of powdered sugar, topped with sweet cream, fresh strawberries and blueberries. A dessert that smells of childhood, the warmth of home cooking and the old days when life was simple – and sweet.
