Tomaž Kavčič was born into a family of chefs – he is the representative of the fourth generation and Gostilna Pri Lojzetu in Dornberk was already mentioned in 1987. In 1997, his mother Katja moved it to Zemono Manor House. For Kavčič, the most important thing is an excellent basic ingredient. It must be local and fresh, not too concerned with other ingredients and most of all, it has to be presented to the guests in such a way that they will feel the chef's love through his food. He doesn't like to complicate, neither in food preparation nor in the naming of his dishes – his style is simple – respect tradition, your environment and the four seasons. Only by doing this, a chef can be innovative and creative. He has created his own style and techniques, which is a big advantage.
