Young Talent of 2019 is Mojmir Marko Šiftar

He says that passion for cooking is in his genes and confirmed it with a tatoo on his hand that says Chef for life – a life in which he is only beginning to spread his wings. the first one who opened the world of culinary creation to him was his mother. He helped her prepare family meals, which is why he began his education at secondary school for Catering and tourism in Ljubljana. However, setting foot in a professional kitchen changed everything for Šiftar. His belief that being a chef is his true calling had been confirmed by working at JB: chef Janez Bratovž's restaurant and later in many other restaurants and hotels. His youth is the origin of his boldness, creativity and his constant strive towards greatness. he is proud of his Prekmurje roots and loves to come back to his hometown. He is attached to his home region and its traditions: this is how he won second place in the semi-finals at the San Pellegrino Young Chef 2018 competition with his dish The Tradition of Koline.
