Vinoteka Movia

Gault&Millau's review

Movia is a winebar led by the Kristančič family from Goriška Brda, which not only offers their own wine but also many others, which round up their offer nicely. If you’re interested in trying them, go for a tasting of white, red, orange or Movia wines. You can, of course, choose your own path and start with some Puro sparkling wine, which will refresh and wake up your tasting buds for a bite or two. They offer different plates: a mixture of dried meat products and cheeses is amazing, because every single piece melts in your mouth. In less than one hour, your day gets better and the friendly service will happily help you choose the next glass. To leave Movia quickly is difficult, except if you only came to buy a bottle and take it home

A piece of Italy in the middle of Ljubljana is called Vigò, which is a gelato store first and then a patisserie with shakes, tiramisu, gluten and lactose free desserts, snacks for diabetics, savoury goodies, coffees and drinks. The point, however, is still their gelato, for which people stand in line, patiently waiting to get their turn and choose their favourite flavour. There are some classics, but many are only offered when the ingredients are in season, like the lila lavender ice cream with white chocolate and blueberries. Everyone can find something they like. What is more: there is a rumour that mango ice cream lovers are secretly trying out every gelato store in the city and our sources tell us that Vigò is a favourite.

Pizzeria Verace smells like a Neapolitan pizzeria: it smells of puffy pizzas and this is exactly what you get on your plate. Is there anything else you need for a perfect moment of happiness than a pizza Marinara and a glass of ruby red wine? Apart from Margherita, Marinara is the most basic pizza with tomato sauce, garlic and oregano: the simpler, the better. If you prefer more toppings, they also make pizzas with prosciutto, sausage, pepperoni or pancetta and pizzas with seafood or anchovies for lovers of the sea. Vegetarians will get a tasty pizza with zucchini, peppers and eggplants. Try their starters of one of their desserts, too: after the lemon sorbet you won’t stop dreaming about it.
