Just a stone’s throw from the lake stands a charming, more than 150-year old country house with a fairytale garden. It is adorned with beautiful flowers, greenery and lanterns that create the most romantic atmosphere when the sun goes down. In the middle of this blooming oasis, there is a true culinary gem. The cuisine is local, seasonal and traditional – they will excite you with daring arrangements of traditional Slovenian culinary and they also prepare some internationally recognised dishes. Those who like to let themselves go and taste truly traditional flavours should try the following: homemade beef soup with noodles, dried and smoked meat products and cheeses from local farms, an ingenious essence of smoked trout, pâté and trout foam, and the traditional bakalca with lamb ragù served with Idrija žlikrofi and enticing cracklings. If you prefer to travel the world, they will serve you plates like goose liver crème brûllée, lamb chops with a herbal crust, the worldwide famous grilled Wagyu steak or a true star: chateaubriand with port wine sauce, served for two people. Wine connoisseurs are impressed by the variety of wines offered so everyone can find something that goes perfectly with their chosen dish. To finish your meal, it would be a shame not to try the traditional Bled cream cake or some other seasonal dessert made by the incredible chef with a tremendous amount of knowledge – we visited them in the summer and tried the lavender panna cotta with fresh berries. Magical!
