The Kapetanović family is known for their delicacies and pizzeria at Dvorni trg, but the Peti 181 sign hanging above their door shines brighter than a star and invites lovers of haute cuisine. The dishes by chef Petra Kapetanović Orlić represent a connection of passion, her Dalmatian roots and interior design, which she studids – they combine pristine seafood, refined French cuisine and simplicity out of the wood-fired oven. The view from the terrace is magnificent because you can see the Ljubljana Castle, the Ljubljanica river and watch all the people running around, but the chef manages to redirect your look onto the plate that resembles art. When you bite into the food, the flavours will strike you gently and you will want return to this place back again and again. She knows how to be a good host and prefers to present the dishes herself – from fresh seafood with homemade olive oil to beef tartare with fried capers. The flavours intensify with duck or goose liver and pistachio, a strong shrimp bisque with tempura-fried shrimp and milky foam … We strongly recommend trying the parade horse of Peti 181: the house ravioli. If you prefer good seafood, they offer fresh daily catches and if you like to stick to the classics, try their delicious lamb or veal roast from the wood-fired oven. We paid 45 euros for three plates and they also offer a tasting menu with 7 courses for 70 euros. The end is the sweetest: apple flambe with cognac, seasonal pie or refreshing almond semifreddo. Pristine, refined and incredibly charming.
