In this elegant restaurant, each detail is carefully chosen. The paintings, the table setting, excellent glasses – everything is proof of the dedication and care for their guest. A mandatory stop for all gourmets guarantees to pamper the whole family and is also the perfect choice for a business lunch, because it offers intimacy and great service. The owner and chef de cuisine Janez Bratovž always manages to find the best piece of fish, animal as well as fruits and vegetables. He will prepare the best pieces of white fish, juicy tuna loins, buttery-sweet raw shrimp with aromatic creams or “à la Janez” – rolled and baked in kadayif to get that extra crunch. The so-called JB homemade ravioli with cottage cheese and pistachio have been exciting guests for years; served with a meat or cream sauce and goose liver. They prepare phenomenal plates with Krškopolje pig, Mangalitsa, marinated and soft roast beef, juicy lamb and delicious goose liver on a puffy brioche here and there. Countless of wonderful combinations are also available in their great collection of Slovenian and foreign wines. They offer tasting menus, 5 courses for 60 euros, 10 courses for 95 and they also make great vegetarian options. They never use shortcuts; all the sauces, stocks, bread, pasta, pickled vegetables … all of it is made from scratch in their kitchen with a lot of patience, love and awareness that each ingredient on the plate has to be of the highest quality. Every guest can notice that easily at JB’s.
